Bella Musica 2026
Mozart’s Gardens as Living Soundscapes
From 28 August to 10 September 2026, the Bella Musica Mozarteum 2026 ensemble, conducted by Stefan David Hummel, will embark on a musical journey along the European Mozart Ways. Under the motto “L’Amenità del loco? – Exploring Mozart’s Gardens”, the tour connects nature, inspiration and artistic creativity.
A particular highlight of the tour is the presentation of original historical instruments from the collection of the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation, which will be played at selected concerts in cooperation with the Foundation. Among them are a violin by the Treviso violin maker Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa (1764) and a child’s violin by the Austrian violin maker Andreas Ferdinand Mayr (c. 1746). Young soloists from the ensemble will also perform a variety of Mozart programmes, offering insights into the composer’s sound world and musical aesthetics.
The tour will take the ensemble to Siena, Lucca, Arezzo, the Vatican, Rome, Florence, Cremona and Milan. The concluding concert will take place on 10 September 2026 in Padua as part of the General Assembly of the European Mozart Ways.
