May and June at the Mozarteum Foundation
Early summer at the Mozarteum Foundation is filled with music, featuring talented young sibling duos, international virtuosos, and a mix of classical works and lighthearted programs. A highlight is the first open-air summer concert at the hedge theater.
On May 5, Rolando Villazón presents a “sofa concert” with award-winning sibling ensembles performing music from Mozart to Kreisler. Pianist Fazıl Say (May 19) spans Mozart, Debussy, Ravel, and his own works. Gordon Safari and BachWerkVokal (May 26) offer an entertaining evening with music by Mozart, Haydn, Bach, and Vivaldi.
The summer concert on June 11 brings open-air sounds from Johann Strauss to Max Raabe. On June 16, the Hagen Quartet gives its farewell performance after 45 years, playing Schubert’s final string quartets.
Family and youth programs include museum tours, a family concert (May 11), interactive “Mittendrin” events, and creative formats like the “Lausch” concert (June 14). Additional highlights include an organ exploration (June 20), a museum concert (June 21), and events during the Salzburg Museum Weekend (May 16).
