Mozart Highlights at the Salzburg Festival 2026
The Salzburg Festival will take place from 17 July to 30 August 2026 and, as always, places Mozart at the centre of its programme. The line-up includes a new production of Così fan tutte, Lucio Silla in a semi-staged performance, the popular Mozart Matinees with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and the Mass in C minor (K. 427) with the Camerata Salzburg.
The central Mozart opera highlight is Così fan tutte at the Großes Festspielhaus. The newly revised production is conducted by Joana Mallwitz.
Across four weekends, Petr Popelka, Giovanni Antonini, Roberto González-Monjas and Andrea Marcon will lead the traditional Mozart Matinees with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation. The programme features symphonies, divertimenti and other masterpieces by Mozart.
As part of the traditional church concerts, Mozart’s Mass in C minor (K. 427) will be performed twice in the Collegiate Church of St. Peter. The Camerata Salzburg and the Balthasar Neumann Choir perform under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock.
