Mozarthaus Vienna

Children’s Workshops in October 2026

In October, Mozarthaus Vienna invites young Mozart enthusiasts to four exciting journeys of discovery. The workshops combine music, history and creativity – with plenty of fun along the way.

On October 11, 17 and 24, the workshop “Making Mozartkugeln” explores one of Austria’s best-known confectionery specialties and its connection to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. But what does the famous Mozartkugel actually have to do with the composer? And what was life like for a composer in Mozart’s time?

During a tour of the historic apartment where Mozart lived with his family and composed numerous works, children can discover the world in which the famous musician lived and worked. Afterwards, they get to try their hand at confectionery themselves: using fine marzipan and melted chocolate, they create their own Mozartkugeln – just like in a traditional confectioner’s workshop.

On October 30, things take a spooky turn with the workshop “Mozart’s Cabinet of Horrors.” Brave young detectives are invited to uncover mysterious stories from Mozart’s time and embark on a thrilling adventure through the Mozarthaus Vienna. Together, they will create their own little horror show, inspired by the forms of entertainment enjoyed in Mozart’s era. Children are welcome to come in spooky costumes. Please also bring a flashlight.
