November and December at the Stiftung Mozarteum
The concert season is in full swing, with the Stiftung Mozarteum presenting a diverse programme in November and December. On 5 November, Duo Spielwerk shows just how groovy Bach, Mozart, Brahms and Debussy can sound on guitar and tuba. Gautier Capuçon presents musical gems from the cello repertoire at the Master Concert on 17 November.
December brings award-winning young talents to the stage at the Newcomer Concert (1December), a distinguished performance of Mozart’s Requiem on the anniversary of his death (5 December), and the Druml sisters, Sophie and Ania, showcasing their skills on violin, cello and piano (17 December).
The Mozart museums also offer plenty of creative activities in the run-up to Christmas. Families can make Advent calendars (28 November) and Christmas gifts (19 December), discover how the Mozart family celebrated Christmas on a family tour (12 December), and wait for the Christ Child together with Mama Mozart on 24 December.
The children’s concerts promise musical adventures for the youngest audiences. The Listening Concert: Dragons, Laughter and Princess Things (8 November) asks whether princesses always have to wear pink. At the Join-In Concert from 12 to 14 December, songs snuggle down under the cosy blanket, while the Klingendes Museum invites everyone to make merry music on 20 December.
