October at the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg

The new concert season begins in October with LatinoMozart, our fiery classical season opener that has become a beloved tradition. Musical sparks fly when Viennese classical music, Latin American musical traditions, and pure joy of playing merge together. The charismatic horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic, Sarah Willis, comes with her ensemble The Sarahbanda, the Omar Massa Trio celebrates tango nuevo, and in Harmonías del mundo, young artists from Latin America present music from their homeland and bring it into harmony with Mozart (October 14-18).

The Simply Quartet will perform a subtle selection of works by Mozart, Wolf, and Brahms (Oct. 28), and for Halloween, we invite you to a spooky organ special with organ grand master Hannfried Lucke and a clubbing, a R(av)equiem (Oct. 31).

Ther’s plenty of musical fun for the little ones too: in the Mittendrin concerts, every splash in a puddle awakens a melody, and in the Lausch concert, we celebrate colorfulness, uniqueness, and music as a language of togetherness with the Fiesta

austríaca.

The Mozart Residence is hosting a special exhibition entitled Mozart 1775: The Greatest Composer until October 19. The exhibition highlights the year 1775, which was one of the most productive years in the young Mozart’s life, with the premieres of La finta giardiniera and Il re pastore. In addition, the then 19-year-old composed most of his violin concertos as well as important mass compositions.
