The Mozart Communities of the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg
Around 30 to 100 international associations and initiatives form the worldwide network of the Mozart Communities, important partners of the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg. In Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, the United States and many other countries, they carry Mozart’s musical and cultural legacy into the world.
Through concerts, lectures, exhibitions and educational projects, they keep Mozart’s music alive, care for local memorial sites and promote exchange between artists, scholars and music enthusiasts. An important meeting point is the regular International Mozart Community Meeting in Salzburg, where experiences are shared and new projects developed.
For the Mozarteum Foundation, the Mozart Communities are a vital link between Mozart’s historical legacy in Salzburg and the international musical world. While the Foundation preserves Mozart’s authentic places, collections and documents, its partners around the globe ensure that Mozart is experienced not merely as a historical figure, but as a living cultural and musical presence.
Youth and educational initiatives are particularly important: the network connects generations, countries and cultures — reflecting a Mozart legacy that has long reached far beyond Salzburg.
